SSV Jahn Regensburg remains on course for promotion in the 3rd league. With a 2-1 home win on matchday 13 against Preußen Münster, the Upper Palatinate team even took the lead in the table for the time being.
It runs and runs and runs at SSV Jahn Regensburg. Coach Joe Enochs’ team won 2-1 against Preußen Münster. The reward: Leading the table, even if perhaps only for a few hours. The previous leaders Dynamo Dresden only play on Sunday and could overtake them again. If the Saxons lose in Saarbrücken, Regensburg will remain first. In third place, Jahn is now a whopping five points ahead.
Sixth Jahn victory in a row
Dominik Kother (58th/90th+2) was the match winner for Jahn. Simon Scherder (90th + 6th) only managed the connecting goal. But the goal came too late and Regensburg celebrated their sixth win in a row. Overall, the game had few chances. Jahn limited himself to what he was good at: being well staggered, standing patiently and taking advantage of his own chances to score.
Münster misses a possible lead
Before Jahn took the lead, the guests from Münster should have taken the lead thanks to two huge chances from Batmaz. But that didn’t happen and Regensburg took advantage of a positional error by the Prussians to make it 1-0.
After that, too much passivity from the home side and a lot of luck that the guests only played outnumbered after being sent off. Münster still sold expensively and demanded Jahn until the final whistle.
