The SG Dynamo Dresden suffered a severe setback for the last Monday game in the history of the 3rd division. Despite a half-time lead at SV Meppen, the Elbestadt lost 1:4 (1:0)
Dresden had the game under control for large parts. Ahmet Arslan put the visitors ahead with a deserved penalty after 24 minutes. By halftime, SGD could have led even higher, if not had to. But with the change of sides, Meppen’s coach Ernst Middendorp brought in three new players who would subsequently become important.
Park flies, Meppen turns the game upside down
Almost 70 minutes were played when referee Erbst sent Kyu-hyun Park to take a shower. The Dresdener saw the yellow-red card. Almost at the same moment, Bruno Soares headed the equalizer into the box after Marcos Alvarez, who had been substituted on at half-time.
After that, Dynamo was completely off the hook. Only the SVM played. Three goals by Sascha Risch after submitting Alvarez, Jonas Fedl and substitute Marek Janssen missed Dynamo the bitter defeat. Arslan was close to tears at the end, emotions ran high, the SGD was presented.
Dynamo no longer has promotion in their own hands one game day before the end of the season. A win against Oldenburg is a must, while on the Elbe you have to hope that the competition will slip up.
