SSV Jahn Regensburg scored the next three points after the win in Aue. Coach Joe Enochs’ team deservedly won 2-0 against Waldhof Mannheim and jumped into the promotion relegation place in the table.
SSV Jahn Regensburg is still in the race for direct promotion. The Upper Palatinate team won their home game against Waldhof Mannheim 2-0 and climbed to third place in the table. Double packer Konrad Faber played a large part in the three points.
Faber’s crooked thing takes the lead
Coach Joe Enochs’ team got off to a better start and had their first chance through Agyemang Diawusie. However, his shot from twelve meters was not placed enough (6th). Nothing more could be observed in an uneventful first half until Konrad Faber gathered his courage shortly before halftime and pushed through towards the baseline. His cross was finally deflected by Tim Sechelmann so that it went over Mannheim keeper Jan-Christoph Bartels and into the far corner (41′).
Faber also worries about the decision
In the second round, the Waldhof initially presented a stronger performance. Ten minutes after the restart, Benedikt Saller was able to clear the ball in front of Kennedy Okpala, who was ready to take a shot (55′). As the game went on, the game became flat. In the final phase, the guests took more risks, which offered space for Jahn. And the hosts took advantage of that in the 83rd minute. After a nice pass from ex-Mannheim player Dominik Kother, Faber hit the far corner and scored a brace. The game was decided, substitute Eric Hottmann even missed the best chance to make it 3-0 (89th).
