3rd league: Essen and Halle open the season

Rot-Weiss Essen opens the new 3rd division season with the away game at Hallesches FC on Friday evening, August 4th (7 p.m.). The following day, ARD shows two games from the first match day live.

The German Football Association (DFB) scheduled the 1st matchday of the 3rd division on Thursday (07/13/2023). After the Friday game, five games will follow on Saturday at 2 p.m., including the NRW derbies between Viktoria Köln and SC Verl and between Prussia Münster and Borussia Dortmund’s second team.

Dynamo vs Arminia live in the first

The game between the traditional clubs 1860 Munich and Waldhof Mannheim will also kick off at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live by both Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and Südwestrundfunk (SWR). The game between Dynamo Dresden and Arminia Bielefeld (4.15 p.m.) will also be broadcast live by ARD (Das Erste).

As the last West club, MSV Duisburg intervenes in the game on Sunday at 4.30 p.m. with the away game against the U23s of SC Freiburg.

New kick-off times on Saturdays and Sundays

In the new season, the Monday games will be eliminated. There is one Friday game on each match day, five games on Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. kick-off and one late Saturday afternoon game with a 4:30 p.m. kick-off. The match between Dynamo and Arminia exceptionally starts a quarter of an hour earlier on matchday 1.

The conclusion is formed by three games on Sunday with kick-off times at 1.30 p.m., 4.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.). In the past season, the Sunday games were usually scheduled at the same time.
