“We want to send a clear signal”
One week after his cruciate ligament tear in the cup game against HSV (4:5 n.E.), Arminia Bielefeld has extended Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee’s contract, which expires at the end of the season. The DSC did not provide any information about the new term. The 27-year-old had a successful operation on his left knee on Monday. The attacker moved from FC Augsburg to the second division relegated team last summer, for whom he has been directly involved in five goals in eleven games to date.
“Noah showed strong performances in the Arminia Bielefeld jersey before his injury. We are convinced that he will come back and continue his positive development of the last few weeks, even if the rehab will now take several months. We want to send a clear signal to our team and to him as our player. Noah should now concentrate on his intensive rehab and he can be sure how and where he will continue next summer – namely at Arminia. He will receive our full support and can rely on us at any time,” said sports director Michael Mutzel and coach Michél Kniat.
Sarenren Bazee added: “I am extremely grateful for this trust and I also feel through this decision that it was absolutely the right thing to move to Bielefeld in August. I also want to thank my teammates who thought of me with their t-shirts on Saturday and showed their support. My goal is clear: to complete top-notch rehab with doctors and physios so that I can return to the pitch next summer. This contract extension pushes me. I see it as a vote of confidence from the club and at the same time as an obligation for me to work on my comeback every day with confidence and positive energy.”
