With a furious performance after the break, Jahn Regensburg turned around a 0-1 deficit at SpVgg Unterhaching and left the field as winners at the end of the year. After the 2-1 win, the Upper Palatinate team can continue to set their sights on promotion.
In the last game of the year, Jahn Regensburg continued his series. Joe Enochs’ team won the Bavarian derby at SpVgg Unterhaching 2-1 and remains unbeaten in 13 games. With the victory, the Upper Palatinate team consolidated their lead in the table. SpVgg Unterhaching winters in the upper midfield with 28 points.
Haching with the better start
Unterhaching got off to a better start in the game. Defensively the home side were compact, offensively they repeatedly combined cleverly and quickly to move forward. In the 22nd minute, Markus Schwabl took the deserved lead.
Now the Upper Palatinate team woke up and almost scored the equalizer in return: Christian Viet simply shot at the goal from the center circle because René Vollath was too far in front of his goal – the ball hit the top edge of the crossbar – the Haching keeper probably wouldn’t be there got more to it.
Jahn turns the game around
The league leaders now controlled the game. Haching was pushed in at the back by the Regensburg team and was hardly able to get forward dangerously. The Jahn team dictated the game and scored the deserved equalizer in the 56th minute after a strange scene. Simon Skarlatidis comes under pressure in his own half, runs with the ball towards his own goal and is then taken off his feet by Raphael Schifferl, who wants to knock the ball out of the danger zone. As a result, Noah Ganaus gets to the ball on the left side of the penalty area and deliberately pushes it in to make it 1-1.
Just six minutes later, Elias Huth scored to give Regensburg the lead. Jahn turned the game around in the style of a top team, Unterhaching seemed ailing and repeatedly made minor mistakes.
