Third division football team TSV 1860 Munich parted ways with coach Michael Köllner just one day after the 2-1 defeat against Dynamo Dresden. The lions announced it.

The 2-1 defeat against Dynamo Dresden prompted the club’s management to act – Michael Köllner is no longer the coach of TSV 1860 Munich. The hoped-for promotion to the second division is in danger. Only four points from the last seven games, TSV 1860 Munich lacks seven points for a direct promotion place – “regardless of the objective, this does not correspond to the claim and expectations of TSV 1860 Munich,” said the club in the press release. “After careful consideration and with a heavy heart,” the decision was made to release Köllner with immediate effect.

“We have intensively analyzed and discussed the overall development. Despite many discussions and joint work on problem areas, the desired development of the team has not materialized and patterns that were already recognizable before the two-month winter break come to the fore again and again,” says 1860- Managing director Günther Gorenzel quoted.

Gorenzel takes over on an interim basis

Gorenzel will take over the coaching position with Stefan Reisinger on an interim basis. The 51-year-old Austrian has the required soccer teacher’s license and, in this difficult sporting situation, makes himself available in the double function of managing director of sports and interim coach for TSV 1860 Munich. He will be supported in his dual function by Reisinger, who has already assumed responsibility in difficult times in his previous coaching positions.
