TSV 1860 Munich got off to a furious start in the 2024 football year. In the first third division game after the winter break, the Lions won comfortably 4-1 against MSV Duisburg.
Two goals in the first half, two after the break, and towards the end just the small flaw of conceding a goal – TSV 1860 Munich celebrated an easy 4-1 home win against MSV Duisburg on the 21st matchday of the 3rd league.
Julian Guttau (15th), Morris Schröter twice (23rd and 53rd), Fynn-Luca Lakenmacher (58th) – three players, four goals, not even 60 minutes. TSV 1860 Munich showed its best side at the restart after the winter break in their home Grünwalder Stadium.
Duisburg defensive deficits
The third division game against MSV Duisburg was actually already decided at half time. While the Lions used their chances efficiently, the Zebras struggled with their weak defense. Even after the break, TSV 1860 Munich was able to increase the score with ease, but also slowed down a bit after the 4-0 win.
1860 defense not yet solid
Bakir’s goal conceded around 20 minutes before the end? Cheap. However, things were made far too easy for the guests. On paper it’s just a blemish. In practice there is still a lot of work for new coach Argirios Giannikis – defensively the Lions still have room for improvement.
