With the club since 2004
Sports director Ivica Grlic has offered his resignation to MSV Duisburg. The third division team announced this on Sunday afternoon immediately after the 3-1 defeat against second-team Borussia Dortmund and at the same time confirmed that they would accept the 46-year-old’s resignation.
“Ivo Grlic has offered his resignation. We accepted the resignation. He wants to clear the way for a fresh start,” said MSV President Ingo Wald. Grlic had been with the club for seven years as a professional (183 games, 29 goals, 24 assists) from 2004, before taking over the post of sporting director in 2011.
After the home defeat against BVB, the “Zebras” of coach Hagen Schmidt are in 17th place in the 3rd division, which would mean relegation to fourth division at the end of the season. From the last ten league games, the traditional club could only win two.
