3D shopping, trends and shop the look

The search engine Google has introduced a number of new shopping functions that are intended to offer customers a more intensive and personal shopping experience.

The features are part of Shopping Graph, an artificial intelligence (AI) model of the platform that offers merchants data-backed information and the ability to make their products easier to find.

One of the first unveiled additions allows users in the US to search the word “shop” next to the item they’re looking for to get a visual feed and research tools for the product. Additionally, the platform now offers a “Shop the Look” option, which shows images of an item and complementary pieces to help put together an outfit.

Shoppers can also see what items are currently trending, read a buying guide to make purchasing easier, and get insights into what other consumers think of the product on the site.

Another feature includes more personalized results and recommendations based on past shopping habits that users can control and turn off if needed.

The last feature is the extension of Google’s 3D visualization when shopping, which was first introduced for household goods. The 3D images can now also be used to represent shoes, starting with sneakers. With the help of a new technology, which according to a Google blog post will be available in the coming months, shoppers will be able to view sneakers with automatic 360-degree rotations.
