38th edition of the Roeselare old-timer fair with the theme ’30s’
About thirty motorcycles are on display at the fair, which provide a beautiful picture of the period between the two world wars. One of the highlights is an extremely rare racing motorcycle from 1938 from the former famous Belgian motorcycle brand FN. Only 2 of this type have been preserved worldwide.
The organizers also exhibit a large number of complete motorcycles that are also for sale. Visitors can also take a look at the varied range of parts, accessories and tools. On Sunday afternoon, the election “the most valued show bike” will be solemnly concluded with the announcement of the winners.
Expansion on the way due to revival
The fair is now bursting at the seams and the organization is thinking about a solution for next year. The greatest interest is in engines from the first half of the last century. For example, to give a motorcycle from the 1930s a new life, the restorer has to look for parts. This fair, where enthusiasts bitten by the old-timer bug meet, is the ideal place for that.
“Fortunately, it is a scene that is very much alive and revived. Parts are also recreated in limited series. That is to preserve the heritage, because that’s what it’s really about, and to ensure that everything is still functional.” adds Frank Stevens, organizer of the old-timers fair.
