Strongman Hafthor to Julius Björnsson a serious accident occurred during training.
Björnsson squatted with 340 kilos. The Icelandic bundle of muscles got two reps, but when he was about to lift the bar off his shoulders after the second attempt, the weights came crashing down on him.
The huge amount of iron forced Björnsson to lean forward. The Icelander posted a video of the incident on his Instagram account.
– I dropped 340 kilos on me! she wrote in the caption.
The cameraman of the video was clearly startled by the situation, because he ran in a hurry to help the strongman. Björnsson cursed loudly, but walked away on his own two feet.

Several commentators on the video asked worriedly if Björnsson is okay. The strongman wrote the comforting information in the comment field.

The incident has since made some people laugh.

Björnsson is the world record holder in the deadlift. He left strongman competitions in 2020 to try boxing.
The Icelander returned to the strongman circles back in October of this year. He immediately broke his own record in the high throw of 25.4 kilograms (56 pounds).
The record throw was 6.17 meters. Björsson has not confirmed whether he will switch boxing to powerlifting for good.
