338 graduates made it!

After a two-year break for health protection, the university is continuing the tradition of saying goodbye in St. Petri, which was established in the summer of 2006. To ensure that the face-to-face event can be held, it was specially moved from spring to summer. “I was wondering if you ever ‘get over’ those congratulations or if you ever run out of words. But no! It is always something very special and a very moving moment to say goodbye to our graduates. Because that’s why we do everything here,” says the President of the TH Lübeck in her speech to the students, Dr. Muriel Helbig.

The head of the St. Petri Church, Dr. Bernd Schwarze moderated the afternoon and addressed a few words to the students himself. Mayor Klaus Puschaddel delivered the words of welcome from the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. Lina Gronemeyer and Johannes Pries made the nave sound with clarinet, piano and percussion.

Graduate Madleen Westphal, who completed her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering successfully completed, says to her fellow students: “Let’s celebrate what we’ve achieved. Because it is something big.” Called by name and arranged in small groups for a photo, the students received their well-deserved certificates and flowers from the hands of their department heads, the deans of the departments and the president.

This year again, students were honored for their special and outstanding achievements by the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences Promotion Society. “Behind difficulties lie opportunities,” says Prof. Dr. Andre Drews. From each department, the two best of the year were honored with book prizes. Drews presents the awards and concludes by saying:

The most important thing is that you never stop asking. I would like to give this to the students and graduates.
