The BR Volleys are on course towards the final series in the Volleyball Bundesliga.
The defending champion from Berlin also prevailed in the second playoff semi-final at the SWD Powervolleys Düren with 3:1 (25:20, 25:20, 19:25, 25:22). After the unusually difficult opening win on Wednesday, the favorites had fewer problems on Saturday evening, with the exception of the third set, and only need one win to move back into the final series.
The third and potentially decisive encounter between the two teams will take place again next Wednesday (7:45 p.m.) in Berlin.
As in the first game, however, the BR volleys found it difficult to get into the game. Düren quickly pulled away in the first set. But the Berliners came back just over good blocks around Anton Brehme and took the lead for the first time at 14:13. This was continuously expanded and the first set was ultimately won with ease. In the second set, the Berliners consistently showed their superiority. Düren also made too many mistakes. The set win was never in danger.
The wobble came in set three. Berlin’s coach Cedric Enard had to take an early break at 1:5 with no effect. Düren now played freely and got the section without any problems. The fourth and final sentence ran in disarray. After a verbal dispute, both teams received a red card.
Playful class no longer came up with many service errors. The volleys were cool enough to bring home the win.
