The Berlin Volleys got their third win on the third day of the volleyball Bundesliga. In front of 4,845 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle, the German champions defeated Volleys Herrsching 3-0 on Saturday (25:22, 25:15, 25:21).

Outside attacker Timothee Carle was the outstanding player for the winner. Substitute American Cody Kesel converted the third match point into victory.

In the first set, the hosts seemed to be on the safe side at 20:15. But the very risky Bavarians managed to equalize with an ace by Estonian Albert Hurt at 22:22. In the end, however, the BR Volleys got the upper hand after two direct serve points in a row from Carle, one of them luckily as a net roller.

After that, the Berliners had the events largely under control. In particular, the powerful attacks by Frenchman Carle and Marek Sotola presented the Herrsching defense with major problems. National player Ruben Schott, on the other hand, had trouble asserting himself on the net a few times.

In the third set, the guests reared up again. The BR Volleys, in which the 2.14 meter tall Slovene Saso Stalekar was preferred to Nehemiah Mote in the middle block and fitted in with a convincing performance, did not let themselves be thrown off course by the initial deficit (2:5) and had each other at the second technical time-out we again gained a four-point lead (16:12).
