’30 and then your own talk show!’

Renze Klamer is very proud of himself for being such a young talk show host. Although he has barely left a footprint, he praises his own achievements.

Of all four RTL 4 talk shows, Renze Klamer’s is the most neither meat nor fish. Many viewers notice that he does not yet have the stature to carry his own program. He himself is very impressed with his own achievements, especially the fact that he has made a career so quickly.

‘I like to think so’

Renze considers himself a real adventurer. He says in the VARA guide like to choose the unknown: “I like to think so. Surely not always. There is also regularity. But I know that my life is not a succession of safe and known choices.”

He must not think of being a boring office worker. “While I was at the EO, I met someone who had been in the customer contact center for 40 years in more or less the same position,” he says. “But such a life is not for me.”

golden boy

Renze sees himself a bit as the golden boy from Hilversum. “I’d rather try something and then fail than play it safe all the time. If I had done that, I would still be working at the EO. They would have loved to keep me there, but I wanted adventure.”

He continues: “Now I’m at RTL 4, I have a talk show, I’m a game master for the first time in my life.”

Very proud

And Renze is all very proud of that. Sometimes he wonders whether he is making the right choices, but: “Then again I think: who has their own talk show at the age of thirty? Well hardly anyone. That is of course also a bit crazy.”

Does he actually like to watch TV? “Lots of current events and news. The one time the Achuurjournaal, then again RTL Nieuws. I check the line-up of talk shows and when I can map out how conversations go, I skip.”

Ah, so that’s where those hundreds of thousands of people suffer from who zap away when Renze starts on Sunday.
