2nd league: Holstein Kiel wins crisis duel – 1. FC Nuremberg stumbles against Dynamo Dresden

Poor Sunday in the 2nd league

Holstein Kiel has found new hope in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga. For FC Ingolstadt, on the other hand, the situation is becoming increasingly hopeless. With a 1-0 (1-0) win against Upper Bavaria on Sunday at the end of the 27th match day, Kiel ended their series of four defeats, but with a six-point lead over the relegation zone they are far from out of danger. After the fourth defeat in a row, the bottom of the table from Ingolstadt is 13 points behind 16th place.

In front of 9,163 spectators in the Holstein Stadium, Alexander Mühling (39th) scored the decisive goal with a penalty kick for the lackluster but deserved success for the hosts, who were hit by Corona. In addition to four players, coach Marcel Rapp and his assistant Dirk Bremser were also in quarantine after positive test results. So the second assistant coach Fabian Boll was responsible on the sidelines.

Ingolstadt coach Rüdiger Rehm had to replace goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic with Robert Jendrusch because of an abdominal muscle strain. Right from the start, he was faced with offensive North Germans. However, Holstein rarely had clear chances to score. The Ingolstadt team played quite well, but also hardly came up with any clear conclusions. Kiel’s Fabian Reese (50th), who surprised Ingolstadt’s goalkeeper Jendrusch from more than 30 meters, provided the scene of the game. But the ball just bounced off the post.

Punished usury: 1. FC Nürnberg stumbles against Dresden

1. FC Nürnberg slowed itself down in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. The dominant Franconians were punished in the 1:1 (1:1) against the relegation candidate Dynamo Dresden for their usury in the starting phase. Fabian Nürnberger’s dream goal from the 12th minute was not enough for the fifth win in a row. Christoph Daferner (42nd) equalized for the strong Saxons, who earned the point.

The “club” got off to a great start. The 27,826 spectators were able to observe what self-confidence can achieve after four wins in a row – for example when Nürnberger scored. He put the ball on his right foot with his sole and hit the corner from 20 meters. Lukas Schleimer (15th), Pascal Köpke after a great through pass from Mats Möller Daehli (23rd) and Tim Handwerker, whose volley shot was great by Kevin Broll (24th), could have increased to 2:0, 3:0 or even 4:0 be able.

The missed refill took revenge. Dynamo struck at the first chance. Agyemang Diawusie moved into the penalty area and served Daferner, who hit the near corner. Diawusie could have followed up after the restart (48′), as could Morris Schröter (63′). At the “Club” the momentum was gone, he hung and even after several offensive changes couldn’t find his way back into a goal-oriented game. In the exciting final phase, a joker could have stung on both sides, first Vaclav Drchal in Dresden (90th), then Manuel Schäffler for Nuremberg. But the winning goal never fell.

Jahn Regensburg victorious: 1-0 against SC Paderborn

After seven games without a win in the 2nd Bundesliga, SSV Jahn Regensburg celebrated another success. Thanks to the 1:0 (0:0) against SC Paderborn, the free fall in the table was stopped. In front of 7,680 spectators, Andreas Albers (66th minute) scored to win.

Both teams struggled for a long time. Regensburg’s game was characterized by uncertainties and unclean passes, but Paderborn was unable to take advantage of the opportunities that arose. Florent Muslija missed from a good position (25′), SC striker Denis Srbeny was also denied with a long-range shot from 20 meters by the excellently reacting Alexander Meyer (40′).

Jahn got better in the second half, Jan Elvedi only hit the bar after a headed corner kick (63′). Just a little later, Regensburg was successful: striker Albers scored the goal of the day after a long ball from Benedikt Saller – Albers converted from an acute angle.
