2nd league: Hamburger SV only with a draw

Dresden (dpa) – Hamburger SV only started the football year 2022 with a partial success. At Dynamo Dresden, the North Germans had to settle for a 1-1 (1-0) draw, just like in the first leg.

In front of a maximum of 1000 spectators, HSV took the lead with the first chance. Robert Glatzel (37th minute) used a counterattack to score his tenth goal of the season. Dynamo scored the deserved equalizer through Christoph Daferner (61st). While Dresden secured its midfield position, HSV has to worry about remaining on the relegation rank.

Dynamo had the game under control until HSV took the surprising lead. The hosts repeatedly combined well into the opposing penalty area, but remained too harmless in the end. HSV, on the other hand, was cold as ice when they had their first chance and could have scored the second goal after 42 minutes, but Sonny Kittel failed to get through to Dynamo goalkeeper Kevin Broll. Dresden seemed unsure at the beginning of the second half, but managed to equalize. After that, a lively game developed with chances for both sides. Neither team scored a winning goal.

Hanover brings important victory

In the duel between the table neighbors, Hannover 96 has meanwhile gained some space in the direct relegation zone with a win at Hansa Rostock. In front of empty seats, Linton Maina (58th minute) scored in a hard-fought encounter for the 1-0 (0-0) and thus the third win in the fourth game under coach Christoph Dabrowski. With the success, the Lower Saxony climbed to twelfth place, Rostock slipped to 15th place.

The game started with the early injury of 96 right-back Sei Muroya (2nd minute) and a good start for the hosts: Hansa had a great chance through Haris Duljevic (8th) when the attacking midfielder failed after a rebound in front of the empty goal .

The weaknesses in the build-up game, which Hannover coach Christoph Dabrowski had pointed out to his own team before the game, were clearly visible: the Lower Saxony seemed unimaginative and lost a lot of balls in the build-up. Nevertheless, 96 surprisingly took the lead thanks to a good move by Linton Maina, when the attacking winger dribbled the ball around defender Damian Roßbach in the penalty area and flicked it into the right angle. The Rostockers then approached the Lower Saxony goal, but their actions were not compelling enough.
