2nd league
Karlsruhe (dpa) – After several corona cases involving its professional team, Karlsruher SC will no longer train for the time being. The second division football team announced that training would be “suspended as a precaution”.
“Instead, PCR tests will be carried out on Thursday for the team, support staff and other contact persons.” The club, which had moved into the DFB Cup quarter-finals the day before with a 1-0 (0-0) win at third division club TSV 1860 Munich, did not name the names of those affected.
Based on the PCR test results, a decision will then be made with the Karlsruhe Health Department on how to proceed. Whether and how the league game against SV Sandhausen on January 23 (1:30 p.m. / Sky) could be affected by the current situation is not yet clear. To this end, the KSC is also in close contact with the German Football League (DFL).
