SV Elversberg won 3-0 (2-0) in the 2nd Bundesliga at the start of the 10th matchday against Eintracht Braunschweig. Elversberg remains in the secure midfield, the air is slowly getting thinner for Braunschweig at the bottom of the table.

Newly promoted Elversberg, now without defeat for six games in a row, was the more present team in a weak opening phase. An unnecessary interruption after twelve minutes of play caused additional shaking of heads in the stands. Supporters from Braunschweig had ignited smoke objects and thrown them onto the field. Elversberg from a distance to success

From then on, the home team continued to dominate the action, while their opponents Braunschweig were showing the uncertainty of six winless games in a row. A corner from the left side gave SVE the lead: Paul Stock got the ball at the penalty area and beat Eintracht keeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann from a distance to make it 1-0 (20th).

As a result, Elversberg initially failed to extend the lead. The bottom team from Braunschweig got their first shot in the 32nd minute, but remained completely harmless in the first half. Shortly before the half-time whistle there was another eye-catcher: Paul Wanner, a 17-year-old loanee from FC Bayern Munich, shot from distance and scored a remarkable goal to make the score 2-0 at halftime (43′).

Braunschweig shows too little for over 90 minutes

The Braunschweigers came out of the locker room a little more courageously, but still didn’t pose enough of a goal threat. Even after five changes, coach Jens Härtel’s team couldn’t find a concept against the compact home team and seemed completely uninspired, especially on offense.

Elversberg brought the final point again. Substitute Joseph Boyamba scored in stoppage time after a counterattack (96′) to make the final score 3-0.
