After league leaders FC St. Pauli and pursuers HSV drew 2-2 in the Hamburg city derby on Friday evening, the third-placed team from Schleswig-Holstein, which has been playing well recently, is now able to move up to a direct promotion spot in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The possible move to the Bundesliga was not an issue for coach Marcel Rapp before the game on Saturday (1 p.m., in the NDR Livecenter) against the surprisingly strong newcomer SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
“We’ll take our self-confidence with us, but we can’t lose focus on the next game,” said the KSV coach, who ticked off the recent away win against Kaiserslautern and the 4-2 win in his own stadium against HSV. “It starts from zero again, it’s a 50:50 game.”
Rapp: “I don’t have a wish list at the moment”
Rapp is currently completely satisfied with his team, which is why he sees no need for action during the winter transfer period. “Of course Uwe Stöver, the coaching team and scouting will take another look at the squad. But I don’t have a wish list at the moment,” he said. “The boys did really well.”
Big change in the summer
That wasn’t necessarily to be expected after the big upheaval in Holstein. The Kiel team parted ways with 15 players in the summer and brought in eleven new ones.
