Hannover 96 missed the great opportunity to jump to third place in the 2nd Bundesliga. With a win at SV Wehen Wiesbaden, the Lower Saxony team would have climbed past Hamburger SV into the relegation place, but the 1-1 (0-1) draw with coach Markus Kauczinski’s team only came within two points.
Joker Andreas Voglsammer (54th) saved at least one point for coach Stefan Leitl’s team after the hosts’ lead goal by Ivan Prtajin (33rd). Hannover has been winless in the fight for promotion for three games in a row.
At SVWW, the guests had enormous difficulties from the start with the hosts’ concrete defense. Their plan to stay strong at the back and counterattack quickly came to fruition when Prtajin scored, who was able to take the ball with his chest without any pressure.
