Pieringer over from three meters

The biggest chance came after ten minutes when Julian Justvan, the Paderborn “Zehner”, ran all alone towards the goal of the guests after Uwe Hünemeier’s dream pass, but failed when FCK keeper Andreas Luthe rushed out. In the 16th minute, the fans of the hosts already had the goal scream on their lips: After a long cross on the second post, Marcel Hoffmeier put the ball across again, but the apparently surprised Marvin Pieringer did not get the ball on goal from three meters. but steered him just past to the right.

Paderborn should have been in front. In the 36th minute, he was lucky not to fall behind: After Klement’s pass to Terrence Boyd, the FCK striker was free, but hesitated too long 15 meters from the goal. SCP defender Heuer started to sprint and grabbed the ball from the opponent’s foot with a wild insert.

Boyd to the crossbar, Heuer to the corner

Ball possession was the motto at FCK at the beginning of the second half of the game. The guests tried to control the game, but Paderborn’s Justvan had the next chance in the 56th minute: After a solo from the right wing inwards, his shot from about 20 meters landed just over the box.

Boyd countered this with an aluminum goal in the 68th minute: After Rapp’s cross, he straddled the ball’s trajectory six meters in front of the goal and put it on the crossbar. It took a dream goal to find a winner in this game: In the 78th minute, Heuer positioned the ball exactly for the free kick and threw the ball into the left corner from a good 20 meters off the left – 1:0. It stayed that way – because Paderborn survived a veritable tumult in front of their own goal in the 92nd minute, in which the ball was almost over the goal line.
