Attacker Guido Burgstaller will not switch from FC St. Pauli to 1. FC Nürnberg.
According to media information, those responsible at the Hanseatic League have rejected a transfer of the Austrian, who is willing to emigrate, within the 2nd Bundesliga.
Burgstaller still has a contract with St. Pauli until 2023, but wants to switch to a club further south for personal reasons. The club, where the 33-year-old had already played from the beginning of 2015 to the summer of 2017, had therefore made serious efforts to return.
The beneficiary of St. Pauli’s veto will probably be the Austrian Bundesliga club Rapid Wien.
