Thanks to a hat-trick from Ragnar Ache, 1. FC Kaiserslautern pushed FC Hansa Rostock, who had been outnumbered for a long time, even deeper into the crisis. Coach Friedhelm Funkel’s relegation-threatened team won 3-0 (1-0) in the Ostseestadion on Saturday and jumped to 15th place in the table, Rostock remained in 17th place. Ache decided with his three goals in the 6th, 66th and 76th .minute the game single-handedly.

The guests started dominantly. Ache took the lead early on after a cross pass from Aaron Opoku. Rostock’s goalkeeper Markus Kolke initially prevented the double blow with a strong save against Kenny Prince Redondo (13th). Rostock’s Oliver Hüsing (37th) saw a yellow-red card after a challenge against Redondo. The central defender had only been warned three minutes earlier.

In the second half, Hansa became more courageous, but was again able to thank keeper Kolke (57th), who reacted excellently against Ache. However, he scored shortly afterwards, first from a rebound and then from a corner. A charging Hansa fan who had worked his way to the pitch was pushed off the field by professionals from both teams and security forces.

96 had significantly more possession of the ball at that point, but suffered from their own mistakes and the effectiveness of the opponent. The hosts in particular were still in control in the second half. However, the active offensive often failed due to the well-disposed guest goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier. Then substitutes Voglsammer and Teuchert did better.

Uzun scores again for 1. FC Nürnberg: win against Braunschweig

1. FC Nürnberg reacted to the bitter defeat in the Frankenderby against Greuther Fürth with a much-needed sense of success. The club won 2-1 (2-0) against Eintracht Braunschweig and, with its second win of the year and now 33 points, was able to move away from Lower Saxony, who were far too lax in the first half (24 points), and out of the relegation zone.

Sebastian Andersson scored the first goal (23rd minute) after a free kick from Erik Wekesser, as he did a week earlier in the 1-2 win in Fürth. Can Uzun increased the score with a converted hand penalty after video evidence (45th+1). It was the 12th goal of the season for the 18-year-old, who has now moved into the top 10 in second division history after scoring goals with the U20 professionals. After a Wekesser free kick, Braunschweig’s Anton Donkor deflected a powerful shot from Jannes Horn in the penalty area with his hand towards a corner.

The guests improved significantly after the break, but were only rewarded with Rayan Philippe’s goal (57th). FCN goalkeeper Carl Klaus was then able to fend off a long-range shot from the attacker (69′). In front of 27,834 fans in the Max Morlock Stadium, the club lost its dominance and control of the game after the break and sloppily squandered several promising counterattack opportunities. Braunschweig was now much better in the game and was close to equalizing.
