2nd Bundesliga: 1. FC Kaiserslautern brings Stojilkovic from Darmstadt 98

First winter access

The transfer of Filip Stojilkovic to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, which was announced on Wednesday evening, is official. The 23-year-old center forward from SV Darmstadt 98 is moving to the second division club on loan for the second half of the season. His contract with the “Lilien” runs until June 2027.

Stojilkovic came to Böllenfalltor from FC Sion at the beginning of the year for 2 million euros – the most expensive purchase in the club’s history. Since then, the striker has rarely been able to impress in terms of sport, only scoring three times in the second half of last season in the 2nd Bundesliga. Most recently, he wasn’t even part of SV 98’s Bundesliga squad. He was sick, “but I was also dissatisfied with him – on and off the pitch,” said coach Torsten Lieberknecht.

Now a change of air in the lower house should help. The club did not report whether Kaiserslautern, for whom Stojilkovic is the first winter signing, secured a purchase option for the coming season. “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg had reported on negotiations about this on Wednesday evening.
