Used day for the handball foxes. The Berliners surprisingly lost the top duel at champion SC Magdeburg in front of 6600 spectators 34:29 (15:11) and thus also the top of the table.

Coach Jaron Siewert (29) is served: “Today we didn’t have enough of everything. I’m in the deep red right now. This defeat doesn’t decide the championship, but the way we lost today wasn’t good.”

The debacle begins even before the game. Magdeburg want to play in their green home jerseys, although white ones were also ready. Problem: The foxes’ away jersey, black with a green chest stripe, is too similar to the referees’. So the Berliners wear their light green home jerseys. Both teams in green, that doesn’t go well with the foxes in particular.

Fox boss Bob Hanning (54) angry at Sky: “Absolute nonsense that it was kicked off like that. But I assume that our players are still not color blind and should find their own man for the pass.”

But they are often not found. Especially in the first half, there was an unusual number of passing and catching errors (12 in total). Foxes coach Siewert: “The four goals behind and the start of the second half killed us.”

The best foxes are ex-Magdeburg Robert Weber (37) and superstar Mathias Gidsel (23/made his first game against SCM) with 7 goals each. Overall, the Berliners are too green that day to overthrow the master.
