By the beginning of next week at the latest, the decision on the cheap Berlin transitional ticket as the 9-euro successor must be made. That’s what governing Franziska Giffey (44, SPD) said on Wednesday at the Berlin economic talks in the Capital Club.
Because BVG and S-Bahn need two weeks to switch machines and app for the planned start of sales on October 1st.
The status according to BZ information:
► At 29 euros for Zone AB, the subsidy from the Berlin state budget for three months would be in the high double-digit millions.
► Brandenburg has not yet sent any positive signals to participate. Giffey is working on convincing Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (60, SPD).
If no agreement can be reached, an extended group of users for the social ticket (EUR 27.50) also applies as an alternative.
