The Brandenburg Ministry of Health put the seven-day incidence on Thursday at 508.3.
The day before, the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week was 509. 3. The number of Covid 19 cases had increased by 2460 within one day, the ministry said. 877,357 infections have been recorded since the pandemic began.
Experts have been assuming for some time that there has been a high number of unrecorded cases – mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to the distortion of individual daily values.
Hospitals treated 545 people with Covid 19 disease on Thursday, 38 of them in intensive care units. For comparison: On Tuesday the number was 548 people being treated with Covid-19, 43 of them in intensive care units. That was about three times as many as at the end of May.
As on the two previous days, the seven-day hospitalization incidence was in the purple area – i.e. in the area of the highest threshold of over 9. Within a week, arithmetically 10 Covid patients per 100,000 inhabitants were admitted to clinics. A week ago, this value was 7.19. Reaching the threshold does not have any concrete impact on the corona measures.
