23-year-old motorcyclist dies in Slijpe

The accident happened shortly after midnight on Diksmuidestraat in Slijpe, a sub-municipality of Middelkerke. A 23-year-old man from Middelkerke fell when he hit a traffic island with his motorcycle. Emergency services rushed to the spot, but for the motorcyclist all help came too late. The victim succumbed to the impact of the blow on the spot. The Bruges public prosecutor’s office sent a traffic expert on site to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash. According to the initial findings of the expert, a steering error may have been the cause of the accident. No other vehicles or people were involved in the accident.
