Premier League promoted
Nottingham Forest still haven’t had enough: The Premier League promoted team signed Serge Aurier (29) on Wednesday night, making their 22nd signing perfect – subject to visa approval. This was officially announced by the “Tricky Trees”. The club did not provide any information on the length of the contract. Right-back Aurier, formerly with Tottenham and PSG, is available on a free transfer after his contract with Villarreal ends.
Nottingham paid a total of almost 162 million euros in transfers this summer – fifth place in the global spending ranking. For Morgan Gibbs-White, the club paid €29.5 million, the highest fee in the club’s history. The Reds overtook AS Monaco as promoters with the highest transfer spend. The Monegasques had invested 160.7 million euros in the squad in the 2013/14 season.
