A 21-year-old Wormerveerder and an 18-year-old Amsterdammer were injured in the stabbing yesterday afternoon in Koog aan de Zaan. They both had to be treated in hospital, where they were arrested by the police as suspects.
The stabbing incident happened around 1.35 pm on the Verzetstraat near the skate park under the A8 in Koog aan de Zaan. Much is still unclear about what happened. Cops rushed to find it one boy near the skate park. He was taken to hospital with stab wounds. The other boy later turned himself in to the hospital.
The condition of the two men has not been released. Police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
Raids
It was not the first incident these days in which the Zaan region was startled by violence among young people.
On Saturday, the Wibaut Evening Shop and Belhuis in Zaandam was robbed by a young man. The owner estimated it at a years or twenty. A day later, an electronics store on Gedempte Gracht was robbed. Officers had to draw their weapons and took two 14 year old boys on.
