Russian mobilized for the military campaign in Ukraine receive at least a monthly salary of 195,000 rubles, 3,184 dollars at the current exchange rate, as reported today by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Of that sum, by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, 158,000 rubles are exempt from income tax, which in the country is 13%, he explained to the press Sergei Mikischenko, representative of the Defense Financial Directorate.

“Money will be transferred to bank cards of the soldiers called up in the framework of the partial mobilization between the 10th and 20th of each month for the previous month of service,” said the official quoted by the TASS agency.

He affirmed that this month the beginning of the payment to those mobilized was brought forward to today, announcing that coincides with numerous complaints on social networks that those called up do not receive the promised emoluments.

Mikischenko specified that the salaries of those mobilized with a military rank and with command of troops they are higher.

He assured that a platoon commander will receive about 225,000 rubles and a battalion commander about 243,000 rubles ($3,764 and $3,968, respectively). of which are also exempt from tax to rent 158,000 rubles.

The Defense official added that the mobilized sign a contract for at least one year to serve in the Armed Forces they will immediately receive a one-time payment of 195,000 rubles, after which they will receive their salary.

Last week the Russian president estimated that 318,000 mobilized citizens, 18,000 more than those contemplated in the plan of the Ministry of Defense.
