2:1! Union trembles in the next cup round

Union already has the Derby-Dusel before the city duel on Saturday against Hertha in the Försterei.

Union manager Oliver Ruhnert visibly pissed off on Sky: “We struggled and just played badly. In terms of chances, we deserved to win, but it wasn’t enough. We can be happy to have progressed.”

Ruhnert with a view to the derby: “We can’t play in the Bundesliga the way we played today. I assume that the team will present itself differently on Saturday.”

With Janik Haberer and Jordan Siebatcheu there are only two newcomers in Union’s starting eleven. And coach Urs Fischer made it onto the bench but had to go to the hospital for treatment at the weekend for back problems.

The new number 1 Frederik Rönnow has nothing to do at first.

Union pushes and has a big chance when defense chief Robin Knoche heads to the left corner after a corner from Gießelmann. But CFC goalkeeper Jakub Jakubov – former goalkeeper at BAK and Viktoria Berlin – saves (16th).

Overall union but weak. Break. That has to get better in the second half.

It will be – for Chemnitz: CFC free kick, Siebatcheu ducks under the ball, Tobias Müller heads in from 7 meters for the Saxons to make it 1-0 (62nd)! Oof!

Union now wide awake: In return, Siebatcheu makes amends for his mistake with his first goal in a competitive game for Union: The assist of Andreas Voglsammer, who had just come on for Haberer, he sinks with an overhead kick from a few meters to 1.1 (64th).

90 minutes around and despite the superiority, you can’t really see that Union is playing three leagues higher. Renewal.
