Russia and Belarus remain excluded from all ice hockey competitions organized by the IIHF in the 2024/25 season.
The world association announced this on Monday (February 12, 2024).. The IIHF cites safety reasons as justification. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine is not mentioned in the communication, nor is Belarus’ support for it.
The world association wants to decide in May 2025 whether the ban will be lifted for the 2025/26 season.
