Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg took their time. After Tokio Hotel had repeatedly released singles in the past few years, a new album is finally to be released. The sixth record is titled 2001 – a nod to the band’s founding date – and is scheduled for release on November 18, 2022.
Corona also hit Tokio Hotel hard, explained Bill Kaulitz. The Latin American tour had to be canceled and the band went back to the studio “heartbroken”. But they welded it together. “For the first time in a long time, it felt a bit like it did back then, over 20 years ago.”
