A week after the forest fire broke out in the Elbe-Elster district, the extinguishing work continues. As a spokesman for the fire brigade said on Monday morning, there are currently around 200 emergency services on site.
The heat development in the ground can still be observed, the last embers have to be found and extinguished. The area on the border with Saxony should continue to be “closely” controlled, the district announced on Sunday evening.
According to the Lausitz control center, the B183 will initially remain closed. However, it is possible that developments during the day will allow the lockdown to be lifted.
