20 years of Ostend-Banjul city link: ecology and…

Journalist Stefaan Kerger goes out with the protagonists who have supported the exceptional collaboration for twenty years. We focus on a few important projects that Banjul and Ostend are developing together. In the first episode we start at the inhumane waste dump in the Gambian capital. The city partnership is trying to limit the negative ecological impact of the dump site. For example, a wall is now being built to prevent toxic wastewater and rubbish from simply ending up in the beautiful natural mangroves.

The city councils of Ostend and Banjul also have a project underway to vaccinate and better protect people who live and work at the landfill.
