20 times up and down the Kemmelberg for charity
Walking 20 times to the top of the Kemmelberg on New Year’s Eve. Another crazy idea from physiotherapist and triathlete Matthias Simoen. He was sponsored for the Warmste Week, raising 534 euros and all of that goes to De Warmste Week.
Not only Matthias Simoen climbed the Kemmelberg twenty times, he received support from Erik who climbed the mountain with his racing bike, a total of about 1500 meters in altitude. 2
It is not the first time that ultra runner Matthias has done something so crazy: “Every year I do three, four, five challenges for charities. That is in line with my triathlons that I set as a goal every time. If I don’t make it do I have to pay it and if I do make it, the rest will pay at least one euro. The next time will be in May, so I still have time.”
Matthias Simoen’s ultimate goal is to one day compete in Hawaii’s Iron Man.
