20 defendants in court for major drug case
More than two years ago, investigators discovered a large drug lab on a farm in Lendelede. Perhaps about 2 tons of amphetamines were produced. The key figure in the case is a man in his fifties from Ostend.
The international gang is on trial for very serious drug offenses, illegal carrying of weapons and threats. The investigators were eventually able to invade Lendelede via telephone taps. For the ringleader, the public prosecutor is asking for a fine of 160,000 euros in addition to 12 years in prison.
