Hamburger SV threatens to lose the lead. The team of coach Merlin Polzin did not get out of 0-0 against SV Elversberg. In front of 56,328 spectators in the Volksparkstadion, the hosts were the game -determining team over long distances, but with their numerous chances to score, the Hanseates were negligent. The 1. FC Köln (47 points) now has the chance on Saturday to push the Hamburger (49) from the top again with a victory in the table third SC Paderborn (45).

HSV coach Polzin had appointed the recently blocked attacker Davie Selke to the starting eleven-and ordered the Ransford Königsdörffer, which was outstanding in the clear victory in Magdeburg. After a free kick by Miro Muheim (19th), Selke almost achieved the guidance of the hosts, but Elversberg keeper Nicolas Kristof parried brilliantly.

The HSV continued the tone against the guests who had traveled as a table, but again Selke (31st) and Ludovit Reis (33.). Afterwards, HSV goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes was in the spotlight: he prevented an own goal of William Mikelbrencis (40th) and saved Maurice Neubauer (41.). After the change of sides, the HSV continued pressure – but the hosts simply did not hit despite the best chances. With counterattacks, the guests from Saarland remained dangerous, Lukas Petkov (61.) failed on the strong this year Fernandes. Substitute Marco Richter (78th) still hit the crossbar for the Hamburgers. A little later Robert Glatzel gave his home comeback after a long injury break, and he was briefly back on the pitch in Magdeburg.

Thanks to a double pack at the beginning of the second half, SSV Ulm has made an important victory in the relegation battle. In the second game under the new coach Robert Lechleiter, the Ulmen achieved the first victory with the 2-1 (0: 0) against SV Darmstadt 98.

Within six minutes, Lucas Röser (51st) scored artistic and Oliver Batista Meier (57th) from the distance. Clemens Riedel (68th )’s connection goal was not enough. The Ulm won again for the first time since the end of January and, at least temporarily, climbed past the relegation relegation rank thanks to the clearly better goal difference past Eintracht Braunschweig. For the Darmstadt coach Florian Kohfeldt, the fifth defeat in series continued the away misery. The lead over Ulm decreased to eight points.

The game started at a moderate level and only really absorbed momentum after the change of sides. Pyrotechnics and fireworks in the Darmstadt block delayed the restart. Then the hosts were allowed to cheer quickly. In the jump, Röser pressed a cross from Bastian Allgeier into the goal with a high leg. The first goal since Lechleiter took office, who had previously reached a 0-0 against Karlsruher SC, was good for the Ulmen. Batista Meier showed the courage required by the new coach on his goal from a distance. Darmstadt’s Riedel made the game with his header exciting again after a standard. The guests also had the chance to equalize. But the Ulmer brought success over time.
