2.15 percent drivers blow positive during ‘weekend without alcohol behind the wheel’ | Inland

The integrated police – the federal police and the road police – held alcohol checks across the country from Friday evening to Monday morning. A total of 16,803 drivers were checked, 2.15 percent of whom had a positive alcohol test. 134 driving licenses were revoked and 89 driving under the influence of drugs were also revoked.

Compared to last year, fewer checked persons were caught. The number of revoked driving licenses is higher, 134 compared to 111 in 2021. The number of drivers who lost their driving license due to taking drugs in traffic also increased from 83 to 89.

“All summer long we will be making drivers aware that the resumption of the festivities does not mean that they have to get behind the wheel while under the influence and that the ultimate goal is to make drinking and driving a thing of the past,” the police concluded.
