18-year-old inspires Liverpool FC

So far, Liverpool FC’s season has had few bright spots. Jürgen Klopp’s team is currently bobbing around in the middle of the Premier League and needs an enormous race to catch up in order to be represented internationally next season. An 18-year-old super talent that is currently causing a stir could play an important part in this.

“He’s been our best player since he’s been playing for us. Hopefully he’ll continue like this,” Mohamed Salah said of his team-mate Stefan Bajcetic after the derby win against Everton. Huge credit for a player who made just his sixth Premier League game on Monday.

At the age of just 18, the Spanish midfield talent managed to gain a foothold in Liverpool FC’s prominent center. For Bajcetic, established stars like Naby Keita or Jordan Henderson recently had to sit on the bench.

Liverpool legend waxes lyrical at Bajcetic

He himself can hardly believe his meteoric rise within Jürgen Klopp’s team. “It’s crazy, a year ago I was still playing in the U18s and now I’m playing in Anfield and all in just one year,” said the U19 international after the game on Monday evening to “Sky”.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was also over the moon after beating city rivals. “I wasn’t sure if tonight was the right game for him given the strength and physicality of Everton’s midfield, but he did extremely well,” enthused the Reds’ veteran pro.

“For a young man of that age to perform like he did in a Merseyside derby… I’ll give the Man of the Match title to Bajcetic,” continued the 45-year-old TV pundit away.
