17-year-old boy injured in shooting incident at Zoetermeer school | Inland

The incident happened around 4.30 pm in a parking lot near the secondary school Rijnland. It is not clear whether the injured person is a student. Witnesses told the police that after the shooting, several boys in black clothes ran away towards the Vaatdreef.

Police said they were looking for “several suspects” and launched an “extensive” investigation into the shooting. A police helicopter was used in the search. Witnesses and other people with more information are called on to come forward.

Series of past incidents

The shooting follows a series of previous incidents in Zoetermeer in May. For example, a boy was shot in a playground, fireworks exploded near a house and a bullet hole was found in a house. The Public Prosecution Service then announced that the incidents may have been the result of a quarrel between groups of young people. The municipality has imposed a ban on gatherings in three districts.

It is not clear whether the incident at the mboRijnland is related to the recent incidents.
