16 arrests at cup final, Ajax buses returned | Inland

Eleven people were arrested outside De Kuip and five inside. Before the match, fireworks were thrown from a bus with PSV supporters at a police van. The police on horseback then carried out several charges against the supporters.

A police spokesperson also confirmed that four buses with Ajax supporters on the A15 near Rhoon had been pulled over before the match. The supporters made use of a combined arrangement, which also includes searches by stewards. “We had received information that a group had deliberately not been searched and so we put those buses aside.”

Two buses were allowed to continue after a check and arrived at De Kuip with a delay. The two other buses were returned to Amsterdam accompanied by the Amsterdam police because supporters were carrying drugs.

PSV won the KNVB Cup for the tenth time by beating Ajax 2-1 in the final.
