15,000 euros for golden tip to an extra pediatrician

In AZ West in Veurne at the pediatric service, only two of the four pediatricians are currently working. Previously, one doctor had to stop due to health problems, another wanted to reprofile, increasing the workload for the two remaining pediatricians. On 1 October they would like to join one, but no less than two new colleagues, or they will also stop.

The hospital is using all its resources to find that new pediatrician. AZ West is not only looking for an employee in Belgium and the Netherlands, but also throughout Europe. Because the search has yielded nothing after a few years, the management pays a premium of 15,000 euros to the person who has a solution. That offer was currently only valid for the employees, but the hospital is now addressing the question to everyone.

Extra for candidate pediatrician

In concrete terms, the hospital is looking for a pediatrician who will remain in service for two years. Not only the person who gives the tip gets a reward, the candidate pediatrician also gets a bonus. “We will not disclose exactly how much it will be. We intervene in the rent of a house and give a welcome fee on the condition that he or she remains employed for at least two years. Finally, we are setting aside an extra premium for all doctors in the pediatric service,” said general manager Lieven Vermeulen.
