Two people were killed in a serious car accident in which a 15-year-old was behind the wheel of the car.

According to police, three others were seriously injured. The 15-year-old left the road in a slight left-hand bend in Saxony-Anhalt on Saturday afternoon and drove into a tree, the police announced on Sunday night.

The force of the impact caused the tree to fall onto the roof of the fully occupied car. The fire department had to free the vehicle’s occupants.

A 17-year-old and a 21-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident between the towns of Wendgräben and Zeppernick.

The remaining three people in the car, aged 15, 17 and 18, were taken to nearby hospitals with some of them very serious injuries.

According to a police spokeswoman, why the 15-year-old was driving the car is still part of the investigation.
