15 million euros? Sales candidate at Bundesliga club offered

Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC is threatened with going into second division this season. If relegation is actually certain in the end, the squad will certainly be rebuilt. The Berliners are apparently already working on making money out of one of the top players.

According to information from “Sky”, attacker Dodi Lukébakio is one of the sales candidates at Hertha BSC. With eleven goals this season, the Belgian is the best scorer in Berlin and would be hard to keep in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Berliners want to make Lukébakio money next summer, according to the “Transfer Update” show.

If the Hertha bosses have their way, a sale of the 25-year-old should bring in a transfer fee of at least 15 million euros. In Berlin, the striker, who was bought from FC Watford for 20 million euros in 2019 and loaned to VfL Wolfsburg last season, only has a contract until 2024.

Lukébakio’s player advisor is said to have recently even actively approached some clubs to offer the attacker. Specifically, it is said to have been SC Freiburg, according to “Sky”.

Hertha BSC is looking for a new number one – more room for talent

According to the report, should Hertha BSC be relegated, Suat Serdar and Marco Richter should also flee. Both have “exit strategies” in their contracts, although no exit clauses are said to have been anchored.

On the side of the additions, the “old lady” is likely to look around for a new goalkeeper. With the current number one Oliver Christensen, there are no plans for the next season.

In the meantime, Hertha BSC would probably increasingly rely on their own talents when moving to the 2nd Bundesliga. Defender and homegrown Pascal Klemens could get more match practice. The U18 national player is one of the biggest young talents in Berlin.
