A 14-year-old girl was killed in a violent act in Middle Franconia. Her mother was seriously injured on Friday morning, as a police spokesman for the German Press Agency said.

The brother of the dead man was provisionally arrested. According to police, he is 17 years old. The girl killed in the act of violence is believed to have been killed by a “pointed, sharp object”. A police spokesman said.
