12 fainted at Nimo concert in Oberhausen

Large parts of Germany are currently groaning under the enormous heat. The thermometers show temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius and outdoor pools and lakes are hopelessly overcrowded. What’s the best way to escape the summer heat? Visiting classical concerts should be at the bottom of the list of ideas. While at least a fresh breeze occasionally provides refreshment at open-air concerts, the hot air builds up in the country’s concert halls. The rapper Nimo nevertheless insisted on playing a concert in Oberhausen last Friday – with fatal consequences.

Nimo: “The club was on fire”

According to Instagram story of the rapper, twelve people passed out during the concert. Nimo wishes them a speedy recovery in the story, but probably doesn’t have any more detailed information about their health status. The rapper himself probably suffered from the enormous heat in the turbine hall in Oberhausen: “I also had to fight the heat yesterday to avoid collapsing! The club was literally on fire.”

Playing a concert under such conditions seems pretty irresponsible. Comparisons to the mass panic at the Astroworld festival on November 5, 2021 come to mind. At that time, ten people died when Travis Scott performed. Even though everyone involved in the Nimo concert got off lightly, more serious injuries could have happened here too – just imagine a person passed out in the middle of a mosh pit.
